Disciples Outpost Ministry Vision
Disciples Outpost is a ministry of Jesus Christ that exists to obey His great commission command recorded in Matthew 28:19 and 20 - “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you”. We agree with the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message. In November of 2018 we began a partnership with the International Church of Ljubljana in Slovenia as Rev. Laramie Brown joined their leadership team in the role of pastor. Centrally located as a branch ministry of National Hills Baptist Church in Augusta, Georgia, our initial field efforts were focused in the nation of Haiti. By living life with the Haitian people from 2014 through 2017 we experienced an empathy and understanding that is allowing us to create a reproducible program that can be duplicated in similar contexts throughout the world. This is being made possible through the publication of material that is being made available to the general public on our website. These materials will enable others to have the resources they need to continue the work beyond our training which focuses on individual relationships in the context of a local church structure.
Evangelism
Our evangelism efforts begin through regular preaching and teaching at the local church. This context provides the foundation and base for further outreach. From our local church we act upon invitation to continue sharing by visiting other churches regularly for preaching and teaching opportunities. In addition to these settings we take regular opportunity to explore remote areas that are difficult to reach in order to continue the advancement of the gospel message to these areas and instill a mission mindset in those participating in discipleship.
Discipleship
In following the example set by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ we focus our discipleship efforts on individual people through small group settings, one on one conversations, and biblical counseling. We place an importance on spending time together in each other's homes. This allows for a realistic relationship to develop over a period of time which will move beyond the bounds of pretense and allow honesty and grace to prevail. The goal is always to encourage growth in personal relationship with Christ.
